Blogging time again
Another gig, another blog…
Down to the Swan & Harlequin at Faversham we trotted on Saturday for our first return visit to a venue. Another good sized and appreciative crowd seemed to have a good time, with lots of singing and dancing and the occasional shaking head.
Problems started early as far as drumkits go with one of my cymbal adjusters snapping completely before we had even soundchecked! This meant some running repairs and the loss of my 10" splash for the evening. And people say I hit them too hard!! Can't see it myself...
We had decided to change the set around, as much to stave off boredom as anything else and it seemed to work a treat. We all enjoyed the new list and moving Doctor, Doctor to the opener was the work of a true creative genius (me, of course!!).
The new song in the set was 29 Palms, the Robert Plant track. A bit slower than most of the set, it provided a nice change of pace and the feedback from those listening was very positive, always a good thing.
We're working on yet more new ones and Black Hole Sun might just make it into the next set, who knows. There are further songs in the pipeline by bands such as MSG, The Foos, Ozzy, Muse and Metallica, but more on those as we get nearer the time.
We seemed to go down well with the management and so keep your eyes peeled for further dates this year back there, not least our spot on the Saturday of the Hop Festival.
On the webby front, Dave is happily working on the website to get some photos on and we now also have a Myspace page, www.myspace.com/ukhardtailband. As we’ve just started it up, it’s a bit empty, but there will be photos and possibly a couple of videos of the band at Faversham on there soon, so keep a look out for that.
As you'll see our new comments page is up and running and we are always happy to receive comments and feedback on gigs, song suggestions etc (though Radar Love ain't going into the set!!!), so please leave such (clean) comments, as you wish. If you've got any questions or info on the band or the members that you wanted, please ask away, and someone will attend to your every wish (again, except Radar Love).
Anyway, Ashford at the end of the month, so hopefully we’ll see you there.
In the meantime, stay happy, stay healthy.
Colin
